How to set time on Casio LIW-M700 / Casio 5174

1. In the Timekeeping Mode, keep A depressed (for aboutย five seconds) as the x Second Hand goes through theย following sequence.

  • Moves to YES (or Y for some models) or NO (N)ย to indicate the last signal reception result, then toย READY (R), and then to the city code of the currently selected Home City.
  • At this time, the v Left Dial Hand will indicate the Home Cityโ€™s current daylight saving time setting (STD or DST).

2. Change the Home City and daylight saving time (DST)ย settings, if you want.

  • For details about these settings, see steps 2 and 3ย under โ€œTo configure Home City settingsโ€.
  • In the following steps, each press of C cyclesย between settings as shown below.

3. Press C.

  • The watch will beep, and the x Second Hand and v Left Dial Hand will move toย their 12 oโ€™clock positions. This is the time setting mode.

4. Use D (+) and B (โ€“) to change the time (hour and minute) setting.

  • Each press of either button will move the hands (z Hour Hand and c Minuteย Hand) one minute.
  • Holding down D or B will start high-speed z Hour Hand and c Minute Handย movement in the applicable direction. To stop high-speed hand movement,ย press any button.
  • The b Lower Dial Hand and z Hour Hand move in sync with each other.
  • When setting the time, make sure that the b Lower Dial Hand indicates theย proper a.m./p.m. hour.
  • If you want to change the date setting at this time, press C and perform theย procedure starting from step 3 under โ€œTo change the current date settingย manuallyโ€.

5. After the time setting is the way you want, press A to return to the Timekeepingย Mode.

  • This will cause the x Second Hand to move automatically to 12 oโ€™clock andย resume movement from there.
